about

Concept: Two convicts from an alien world stage a prison break -- snatching a perpetually transmitting radio communicator on their way out -- and seek refuge in an obscure habitable planet far beyond the legal reach of their captors. This is their transmission.

Disclaimer: The characters in this story are not meant to be the voice of reason, nor do they represent the opinions of the authors. The story does not end with this album and thus the overarching themes may not be entirely representative of the themes contained within the full three-album-long plot.

lyrics

(Radio chatter)
You’re coming in… I think I can hear you… Hold on… Wait…

Inflorescent:
Alright, the signals are now live
You should see a blip on the side if the transmissions are tied
They can’t jam or find their own designs, so we stand to slip out under their watchful eyes
They’ll be none the wiser, when we run on by em,
And bust through their perimeters and jump the wire
Had enough of being cuffed in their rusted iron,
So trust we’ll kick dust and then duck the sirens

Spitnautical:
This prison’s been filled beyond its limits,
Without knowledge that this spawned a mob of opposition in one spot,
And all are endowed with a common interest: dissolve their restrictions and get on with their business
It might seem far fetched and distant ‘cause they’re split, twisted, and gripped by long arm,
But we’ll prove that instinct wrong
All we need to do is generate a spark to go detonate the bomb,
So what’s used to ring the riot alarm?

Inflorescent:
If the inside of the towers stay true to the blueprints,
It’s the two switches next to the grate in the case with a translucent blue tint,
Lift the top and use it

Spitnautical + Inflorescent:
Those who know the plan will know the signal,
And those who don’t will go and take their chances
They flow out of the halls while we fleeing through the middle to get ghost and leave commanders
An angry crowd it moves like pools of liquid;
Thrashing up against the walls that hold it
Can’t be bound once provoked it’s too persistent
When the wave outgrows its limits then we floatin' with it
… A run over grass, leaves, and stones; alone but in time our paths will be colliding
The sun sinks into the horizon, at night a destructive wind thus arises

Spitnautical:
Cut through, and trust discussed routes
If you gotta adjust stay cautious enough to elude em
Keep moving, onward under the covering of leaves
And head somewhere we can shut us in from the heat

Inflorescent:
I’ll glide, slide, duck, and breeze past the branches, shadows dancing, dirt kicked up in transit
Still hurt from the panic, I’ll tie part of my shirt, and skirt out, with tourniquet over damage
I hear ‘em coming, what’s the move?

Spitnautical:
I’m breezin’ past the river on the west end…
We should trickle to the south and produce the union,
Where the rivers intersect, connect, and twist and project forward,
And pour out past the borders
In order to prevent detection we need to extend the distance,
Between them and us, so they can’t corner or guess what direction we rush
Stay missing, concealed and nonexistent

Inflorescent:
The searchlights are distant, I’m hearing no steps

Spitnautical:
Keep pushing, they could get close if we lose footing

Inflorescent:
I turn right move slick with the river, I’m nearing the end

Spitnautical:
I just arrived myself, the sirens’ll die down the more you stride out
I hear footsteps descend and flow one set, so I know attendance is low, lets mend up and go

Spitnautical + Inflorescent:
Cascade and coalesce, we surge like hurricanes
Emerge from the weight when we burst through the frame
Swerving through lanes, no curve could contain
This convergence and all else can burn from the flame
